December 10, 1948 - January 25, 2021
Bruce Douglas Chambers passed away on January 25, 2021 at the age of 72 following a courageous battle with cancer. Born on December 10, 1948 in Burbank, California, he was raised in Sunland — a suburb in the City of Los Angeles, California. Upon graduating from high school, he moved to San Luis Obispo, where he attended the California Polytechnic State University. Bruce loved football and played linebacker on his high school football team. As a teenager, Bruce and his two older brothers — Randy and Guy — were regularly engaged in their father’s endless projects around their new hilltop home. One of his lasting memories included hand digging their family swimming pool. Early in his career as a financial planner, Bruce met his wife, Wanda, at a financial services conference, and married two years later. Bruce formally adopted his step-daughter, Kristin, when she was 13-years-old. A love of family, career and clients, and getting dirty with his hands in his love/hate horticultural hobbies consumed his life. He always supported his children's interests as a soccer coach, dance dad, horse owner and hunter/jumper competition supporter. He is survived by his wife and soulmate, Wanda Chambers and his English Bulldog, Zeus; children Alison Brigham (Jory), Kristin Bigalke (Brady); Greg Chambers, Michael Thomas (Cindy), brother Guy Chambers (Barbara), grandchildren Parker, Bozley, Evelyn, Zachary, Cody, Sydney, Piper, Lucas, and Ethan, nephew Scott (Parrisa), great nephews, Kaden, Colton, and great niece, Kayla. He is predeceased by his mother, Gladys Chambers, father Lee Chambers, brother Randy Chambers. and stepson Brian Thomas (survived by his wife, Becky). Loved by his family, friends, and clients, Bruce will be dearly missed. A celebration of life will take place in St. Augustine, FL. for family members (details forthcoming).
