Cynthia Diane McNeal-Hearn
September 4, 1965 - May 28, 2021
Cynthia Diane McNeal- Hearn was born on September the 4th, 1965 in Jacksonville FL. at the Naval hospital. She died on May 28th 2021 at the age of 55. She was surrounded by her family. Her memorial service will be held on June 11th at Trinity Parish at 215 St. George Street, Saint Augustine Florida at 1:00 p.m. She is survived by her son Connor McNeal and parents Richard and Virginia McNeal. Sisters Lisa McNeal, Lorrie King and her husband Charles, Celestia Schmelzenbach and her husband Barry. Her nephew Josh Jones and his wife Lori, and nieces Katie Mallow, Clare Schmelzenbach, and Vien Schmelzenbach and numerous cousins’ uncles and Aunts as well as many close friends from McLoud, Florida and work. Although she died in her adopted home of St. Augustine she was raised in McLoud Oklahoma. Was a student at McLoud Schools from Kindergarten through 12th grade. While at school she was a member of the McLoud Marching Band, and color guard. She was a high school honor society member and was accepted to Vanderbilt University after high school. Her life took a turn though when she met her husband while attending a church in Ada at a praise and worship service. They were married shortly afterward and moved to AK. Eventually she and Jack went their separate ways and she moved to Colorado and lived with her sister Lisa and her niece, Katie and adopted her son Connor. Once again life had changes and eventually she and her sister moved to St. Augustine. She became a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church and was an active member of her parish here in St. Augustine. Cynthia’s was known for her love of God. Her favorite color was plaid (especially the McNeal tartan), and horror movies (even if they had to be viewed from behind a sibling or a couch.) Additionally she loved to travel and her most recent trip was to Scotland where she was accompanied by her sisters Lisa and Celestia and niece Clare, as well as new friends Donna and Thomas. She often spoke about the wonderful time that she had there and how it meant a lot that she was able to go. It is with great sadness that we all say goodbye to Cynthia. However, in the end she passed in the manner she wished, at home, in her bed with her family around her. You will be missed. We will miss her smile, her snarky sense of humor, her love of life, and her kind and gentle spirit. May peace be with her, her family and friends.
