George David Dennison

March 30, 1946 - April 23, 2022

George David Dennison, age 76, left this world on April 23, 2022. Born on March 30, 1946 in Winter Haven, Florida, he was the son of Jasper and Nettie Ruth Dennison. George David grew up the youngest of four boys. He graduated from Winter Haven High and began his career working at his brother Jimmy’s Badcock Furniture store in Orlando. George David married the love of his life Sharon Christopher on August 21, 1965. They moved to St Augustine, FL where they raised their four sons Greg, John, Chris, and Mike. George David was an entrepreneur at heart and purchased his Badcock Furniture store at the age of 21. He would go on to have a successful career as a real estate developer and an owner of a bed and breakfast in downtown St. Augustine. After retiring, he and Sherry split their time between Florida and North Carolina, where they had a home in Beech Mountain. George David cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren. It brought him great joy to gather the family around the holidays. He took interest in the lives of his loved ones and was always a phone call away. Coming from humble beginnings, he took pride in ensuring his children enjoyed the same success he achieved. He had a big heart and it showed in the way he was quick to lend a helping hand to others. He is remembered with love for his kindness, warmth, generosity and devotion to his family. He is survived by his sons; Greg Dennison (Juliane) of Deland, FL; John Dennison (Jeanne-Marie) of St. Augustine, FL; Chris Dennison (Kate) of Beaufort, SC; Mike Dennison (Mary) of Niceville, FL and his 10 grandchildren; George (Maria), Ansley (Carter), Caitlin, Lauren, James, Michael, Jack, Gracie, Aly and Lilly. George David was predeceased by his wife of 56 years Sherry, as well as his brothers Jimmy, Jerry, and Mark. The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM and the funeral service will begin at 3 PM Friday April 29, 2022 at Craig Funeral Home, 1475 Old Dixie Highway, St Augustine, FL with a burial to follow at Craig Memorial Park.
