    James Curtis Braddock

    September 2, 1944 - January 2, 2022

    James Curtis Braddock, a native of St. Augustine, passed away peacefully at his home, on January 2, 2022, surrounded by his loved ones after a lengthy illness with cancer and heart disease. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Nonie; son, Robert, and daughter-in-love, Sheyla Braddock; daughter, Catherine Braddock; grandchildren, Sofia and Lilliana Braddock and Julia Bowers. Brothers and sisters-in-law, Alfred and Sally Braddock, Randy Braddock, Jerry and Donna Braddock, one sister, Shirley Harper, sister-in-law Barbara Braddock and several nieces and nephews, also survive him. His father, Riley Braddock and mother, Ivy Hall, brothers Ronnie and Freddie preceded him in death. Jimmy graduated from St. Augustine High School where he was an outstanding baseball and football player. He then entered the Florida National Guard and served for eight years. After a career with Florida Power & Light Company and Six Sigma Qualtec, he retired to enjoy his dear grandchildren and favorite pastime, playing golf. Visitation will be at Craig Funeral Home, Monday, January 10th, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm with prayers starting at 6:00 pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated, Tuesday, January 11th, at 9:00 am in the Cathedral Basilica. Donations to Community Hospice, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257, the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284, or your favorite charity are graciously appreciated.
