James Geanuleas

James (Jim) Geanuleas, late of Round Rock, Texas, passed peacefully from this life on May 7, 2021. Born in Newark, New Jersey, in 1926, to George and Marie Geanuleas, Jim was the first of their four children. His brothers Michael and Harry, and sister Despina (Cookie), predeceased him. Jim served proudly in the Merchant Marine and U.S. Navy in World War Two. Following his honorable discharge in 1946, he attended night school and became a skilled draftsman. Keenly observant and always a quick study, Jim contributed to engineering designs that helped protect United States government computers during the Cold War. Deploying his innate sales abilities, Jim eventually became a technical recruiter, finding just the right talent for large companies such as IBM, Boeing, and Lockheed. He retired in 1996. Jim’s passion was building model aircraft, and he displayed and donated his models to the Texas Military Forces Museum, where he was also a docent for many years. His models have been displayed as well at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Austin, Texas. Over the years, Jim delighted in making and donating many models in response to personal requests. Jim's first wife, Stella Pontikas, predeceased him in 1981, and his second wife, Sharon Neratka, in 2003. Crediting his longevity to moderation in every area, he is survived by his sons George (Diane) and Lee (Deborah), stepdaughter Lara Rodriguez (Victor), and stepson Eric Neratka. He was blessed with two grandchildren: Gabriella (Tomer) and Mark Geanuleas, a step-granddaughter, Kristine (Tim) Gregg, and two great-grandchildren: Isaac and Estella Geanuleas Busidan.
