On Monday, December 21, 2020, Jimmy David Cooper a loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 72. Jimmy was born on September 25, 1948 in Hartselle, AL to Raymond and Myrtle Cooper. He served as a medic in the US National Guard Services for 25 years and was a mechanic for Florida East Coast (FEC) Railroad for 30 years. On June 19, 1971 he married Dorothy Anne Usina. They raised 3 daughters, Paula, Melinda and Jodie. Jimmy was proceeded in death by his father Raymond, mother Myrtle, brother Kyle; sisters Shelby, Martha and Evelyn; and grandchild Brian Seay Jr. He is survived by his wife Dorothy, his three children Paula and husband Brian Seay; Melinda and husband Chris Mickler; Jodie and husband Joey Parks; brother Gerald Cooper; grandchildren Carissa, Kaitlin, Kelsey, Aaron, Clay, Devan and Allie and two great grandchildren Kayson and Emmett and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Jimmy lived his life to the fullest. His love of building, fixing and creating just about anything will always be remembered and passed down for generations. He enjoyed boating, fishing, scalloping and many more outdoor activities. He provided words of wisdom, shared great stories and was a good friend who will be greatly missed by so many. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Craig’s Funeral Home 1475 Old Dixie Hwy St Augustine, FL 32084 between 5pm and 7pm. Flowers are gratefully accepted and can be sent to Craig’s Funeral Home. Due to COVID, face masks and social distancing are required. A military funeral service will be held on Friday, January 15th at the Jacksonville National Cemetery at 10:30am. Due to COVID restrictions only the immediate family will be able to attend. A Celebration of Life will be held on January 15, 2021 at 4pm at The Lake - 368 Tinsley Rd. Florahome, FL.
