Josephine "Jo" Smith

July 9, 1929 - January 2, 2022

Josephine “Jo” Smith 92 of Saint Augustine Florida, passed January 2, 2022, peacefully passed away at the Bailey Family Center for Caring Hospice in St. Augustine, Fl with her best friend, Rita and family by her side. Jo was a longtime resident of Saint Augustine. Originally from Louisiana. She retired from Southern Bell and was a dedicated volunteer at Flagler Hospital for many years. Jo enjoyed camping, fishing, and sewing. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She always had an answer even if you didn’t want to hear it. She had great humor and a caring heart for all. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Vaughn Smith (Bill) and son, William Vaughn Smith Jr. She is survived by her son, Scott Lee Smith, daughter in-law, Patricia Smith (Patty), brother, Fred Touchet (Diane), six grandchildren- Amber Oshunkeye (Frank), April Horne (Ian), Tamara Morris (Austin), Will Smith, Nichole Smith, and Nicolas Smith, six great grandchildren- Angelica Horne, Kaitlyn Horne, Caleb Oshunkeye, Carter Oshunkeye, Harper Morris, Ashton Smith, and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Craig Funeral Home. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 until the time of the services.
