Lois Solana Stratton Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Lois Solana Stratton, 83, of Pine Island, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones on April 3, 2021. She was born and raised in St. Augustine. She and her husband owned and operated the Pine Island Fish Camp for over 40 years. She was a bus driver for the St. Johns County School District for many years. She loved her job and it showed through the positive impact she had on many young lives. Lois was well known and respected in the community. She was proud of her Minorcan heritage and served as Queen of the St. Augustine Royal Family. Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Charles Stratton; parents, Victor A. Solana Sr. and Lula Mae (Curlee); brother, Victor A. Solana Jr. (Butch). Surviving family members include children: Lorraine Smith (Ron), Julie Nemic (Ted), Reggie Stratton (Laura), Vickie DeHart (Paul), Willie Stratton (Glenda), and Chad Stratton (Debbie); brother, Michael Solana (Suzy), sister, Paulette Hood (Al). Nine grandchildren: Luke Sweeney, Pam Easton, Matthew Sweeney, Jack Clemons, Becky Chapman, David Clemons, Paul Stratton, Chrissy Barnhill, Aaron Smith. Eight great-grandchildren, Deanna Easton, Ashley Easton, Emma Sweeney, Alyssa Clemons, Jack Clemons, Lula Chapman, Sadie Chapman, and Nolan Barnhill. As well as many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Craig Funeral Home in St. Augustine. Visitation will be Monday, April 5, from 6 pm-8 pm. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, April 6, with Reverend Clarence Blalock officiating. Burial will follow at Sampson Cemetery. Family will receive visitors at 1200 Pine Island Road, immediately following.
