Marilyn Mickler
September 23, 1930 - January 30, 2022
Marilyn went to heaven on January 30, 2022 to join her husband of 66 years, Joe. She was always up for a party with her good friends in St. Augustine and you could usually find her playing the gutbucket and singing with her sister, Helen. She was always the life of the party. Marilyn had a full and wonderful life of 91 years born on September 23, 1930. She spent the last two years of her life at Vista Shores Assisted Living in New Orleans to be close to her son, Richard, and his wife, Sue, and son, Jimmy. Marilyn made many friends quickly at Vista Shores and grooved right into the bridge club, social scene, and the great food of New Orleans. We even converted her from a Jag’s fan to a Saints fan. Marilyn graduated from St. Joseph Academy, attended Ward Belmont in Nashville and specialized in medical records at Northwestern University in Chicago. She worked in the medical records department at Baptist Hospital in Jacksonville while she and Joe raised their two sons there. She is pre-deceased by her parents, Vincent and Ione Amato, her husband, Joe, son, Randy, and his wife, Jane. She is survived by her son, Richard (Sue) and grandsons Jimmy (Marissa), Ryan (Allison), granddaughter Lauren (Ty) and their children, step grand- daughters Angela and Shannon and their children. Marilyn had a passion for family, education and friends. She made a positive impression on so many people. She will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held in the spring at Craig Funeral Home in St. Augustine. Family and friends will be personally notified. Flowers gratefully declined.
