Robert Earl Burchfield

November 25, 1940 - April 17, 2022

Robert Earl Burchfield, 81, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2022 at the Memory Care at Riverside Cottages at the Shores in Saint Augustine, Florida. Robert, a Saint Augustine native, was born November 25, 1940 to Carl William and Edna Alice Williams Burchfield. He was very proud of his Menorcan heritage. He is survived by his sweetheart and wife of 59 years, Sharon Murphy Burchfield and their three children, Robert (Deedria) Burchfield, Bryan (Suzie Basse) Burchfield and Bridget Burchfield (Brian) Coughlin. Special joy was brought to his life by his much-loved grandchildren: Cormac & Maeve Coughlin. He is also survived by his brother Carl William (Gloria) Burchfield, Jr, two nephews and his niece. The family wishes to thank the staff of Riverside Cottages at the Shores for his excellent care and the compassion shown to his family during this most difficult time. We also thank Vitas Hospice for their help and understanding. A prayer service for Robert Earl Burchfield will be held at the columbarium at San Lorenzo Cemetery, 1635 US 1 South, St Augustine on May 11, beginning at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would instead appreciate donations being made in Robert’s name to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
