St. Augustine, FL/Paxton, MA --- Robert Lawrence Price, 85, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 in Jacksonville, FL. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sybille (Billie) Price, daughters Cynthia Price and partner Keith Rockwood of Webster, MA Deborah O’Donnell of Bar Harbor, ME, Rebecca Morris and husband Kevin of Media, PA, step-daughter Karin Wolf Daigle of Worcester, MA and husband Richard Daigle of St. Augustine, FL and step-son Barrett Wolf of Leicester, MA; a sister Gail Kimball and husband Ralph of Paxton, MA, grandsons Andrew Price, Robert Price, Nicholas Rockwood, James O’Donnell, Ryan Morris, Dean Daigle and granddaughters Rebecca MacLean and Kate Price and his 4 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Carol. Bob was the son of the late Helen T. and M. Lawrence Price. Bob was born in Worcester, MA and moved to Paxton, MA as a child, graduating from the last class of Holden High School, Holden, MA. He received both his bachelor and master degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, MA. During his career, Bob worked for several manufacturing and engineering firms throughout central MA and many roles, with a specialization in robotics assembly line design. In Paxton, MA, Bob was a former chairman of the planning board, a long time deputy fire chief and the designer of the former fire station. Bob had a lifelong interest in woodworking and with his exacting design skills was an absolute wizard in his shop, creating unique and wonderful gifts for his family and friends, as well as many pieces of furniture and cabinetry. He was also a skilled draftsman and artist and created many oil and watercolor paintings. Bob enjoyed being on the water and for many years had both sail and motor boats at the vacation home in Boothbay Harbor, ME. He also loved musicals, attending plays, going to both live concerts and football games. But Bob’s true talent was his dry quick wit and bottomless sense of humor. He loved nothing better than a good joke or playing a prank and could always be expected to have a smirk on his face. There will be no services. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Tunnel 2 Towers (T2T.org) or a favorite charity of your choice. He will be greatly missed by his wife, sister, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and by all who loved and knew him.
