Russell A. "Buddy" Green Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Russell A. “Buddy” Green, 89, passed away May 31, 2022.Buddy was born March 29,1933 at Moultrie Creek in St. Augustine. He grew up on the Old Moultrie Road and started working with his father, Pete ‘Pop’ Green in the logging industry hauling hardwood to Florida Furniture in Palatka. Buddy later decided to go into the well drilling business and built his own rig and started R.A. Green Well Drilling with his son Art. Quite the entrepreneur he bought land along Old Moultrie Road which is now ‘Willow Walk’. He then purchased a flower shop in Titusville where he serviced the community and the Kennedy Space Center with floral bouquets for their many different occasions. Buddy retired in 2002 and moved to the St. John’s River in East Palatka, where he enjoyed many days shrimping, fishing, and boating and all things on the water with his wife Lea Green. He was a delight to the many who knew him. He truly enjoyed the outdoors, offshore fishing, any kind of fishing or hunting. Buddy was predeceased by his wife Lea, son Art, son-in-law Robert Holloway, sisters; Sadie Gause and Pauline Follweiler. Buddy is survived by his daughters, Deloris Holloway of Lake City and Cathy (Tom) Rains of East Palatka; grandchildren, Robert “Rusty” (Michelle), Danielle (Brian)and Taylor (Hallie) as well as 5 great grandchildren and his sister Betty Thompson. Graveside services will be held 10AM Tuesday June 7th at Craig Memorial Park on the Old Moultrie Road.
