The Craig family remains committed to the community throughout this pandemic.  We are committed to serving families and giving them every possible option for them to be able to honor and celebrate the life of their love ones.

With the recent concerns of the COVID-19 virus, we want to remind everyone that public health and sanitation is one of the basic foundations of funeral service and, as such, we must be proactive anytime there is even a hint of danger to the public welfare.

We will continue to monitor and implement any guidelines given to us by the CDC, IFDF, NFDA, and state or local public health officials. Any family having a public funeral service, gathering or visitation will be required to follow federal, state and local public health restrictions that may impact the maximum people allowed to attend.  We will certainly adhere to any restrictions offered through our State and National Associations and our Public Health Professionals as we continue to monitor this fluid situation.

During this uncertain time we want to continue offering the opportunity to celebrate life.  Our mission is to offer families comfort in their time of loss, and provide a platform to honor and celebrate the life of their loved one.  This will continue, but we will be vigilant during this unique time.

When our staff serves your family we will be emphasizing these guidelines:

  • We will emphasize to our families how to prevent the spread of COVID-19, such as by staying home if you are sick, washing your hands, and covering coughs and sneezes.
  • We will continue to practice the same safe hygiene and sanitary procedures in our funeral home that we always have practiced.
  • We will also present different ways to express comfort and love and will try and forego the traditional shaking of hands and hugging.

We are now offering all of our families the option to make arrangements completely online. This allows the family to take their time when making important decisions and relieves the pressure and anxiety of having to make the trip into the funeral home to meet with a funeral director.

For families that request a funeral service we ask that they keep invites to immediate family and close friends in an effort to keep in line with the smallest crowd possible. We offer the ability to record a funeral service and post it privately for friends that may miss the service due to crowd restrictions. And as always, we offer live streaming services which will be free to families arranging for a funeral or memorial service.

Despite the concerns associated with COVID-19, we have alternatives we can share with our families that will allow them to celebrate the life of their loved one in ways that promote the safety of all involved.  If you have any questions or concerns please call us 24 hours a day at (904) 824-1672.

Sincerely,

The staff of Craig Funeral Home Crematory Memorial Park
